beautiful trash.

Apparently this was on a Starbucks download or something and the people on youtube are getting all huffy about it. Whatever, I just heard it on Aurgasm and thought it was fun. Sue me.

let's leave zooey deschanel out of this one.

So I'm not sure about this one. Yes, the kids are adorable. But I feel like it is a little weird that they are singing a song by the Smiths. They don't quite tap into the bleakness that Morrissey expressed. And yet everyone can relate to the desire to finally be fulfilled. And it is a lot more harmonically malleable than "I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)" (don't get me wrong, I like the Stones just fine). The arrangement, in fact, is beautiful.

I really got nowhere in that argument with myself, so, tell me, what do you think?

461. That's how many blog posts I had to catch up on tonight. Seriously what have I been doing with my time? Oh yeah, having a life. After spending some time with one of my favorite chicas, Mayrah, I went down to D.C. to see my mom. And now I am back so posts should be more frequent. Hopefully.

You should totally check out the vintage photos the Sartorialist has been posting, they are fantastic.

Also, the Sox (over here we like the red ones) are in first place over The Dreaded (as my dad calls the Yankees). Yes!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Summer is here!

Dance for joy! Or because you enjoy looking like a fool!

brielle mcclain.

I am back form the dead! Finals are over and it is now summer! Or it is supposed to be. Right now it is about 50 degrees and rainy. Blast.

Anyways, my friend Mayrah is staying with me this week and has introduced me to Brielle McClain, who is a photography from Oregon. I'm pretty sure that Mayrah even knows Brielle, which is awesome because I like her photography a lot. Her colors particularly stand out to me. She has a pretty diverse portfolio of portraits, weddings, and life in general. Hope you enjoy!

Love that last one.

You can go to Brielle's website if you want to see more.

big papi.

The Sox aren't exactly doing so hot this year, but this makes up for it. David Ortiz is adorable and has always been one of my favorite players (along with Dustin Pedroia).

Also, I was just browsing my blogs and I saw that a posted was entitled "Unshowered Masses" and it struck me how perfect of a description that is for finals week.

the new & the old.

I know. Duh. But I just listened to this like four times in a row so whatever. You can't have too much Adele anyways.

(Also, this works on like ten levels for the title of this post so there. She not new, but she's just getting really really popular again. And this song isn't as new as some others, but I've only been really getting into it recently. And it is new school but it has old school influences. See?)

Also, check out Google today if you haven't. There is a lovely animation based on Martha Graham. Who is that you ask?

Does that answer your question!?

No. Probably not. Whatever, look her up yourself, you lazy bum.

hotel yorba.

I'm writing an essay on the White Stripes for my music class so I kinda got them on the brain.

"Her femininity and extreme minimalism are too much to take for some metalheads and reverse-contrarian hipsters. She can do what those with 'technical prowess' can't. She inspires people to bash on pots and pans. For that, they repay her with gossip and judgement. In the end she's laughing all the way to the Prada handbag store. She wins every time." - Jack White, on Meg White

Yes she does.

study break.

Summer...I can almost see it. But there's something in the way...exams. Blast.

Smash Mouth, take the pain away.

matt & kim.

So Matt & Kim came to campus yesterday in the honor of the last day of classes and it was so good. They were absolutely adorable. Matt was so sweet and funny in his "mcing". And Kim, she's just kinda a badass. But a badass who actually smiles and looks like she loves what she is doing, which is the best kind. And she's from Rhode Island. I just about fainted when I heard that (I'm from the Ocean State as well) and during the whole concert I just wanted to chant "Rhode Island!". It took all my will power to resist.

The concert really was great though. They had so much energy it was insane. When they played "Daylight", (they saved the best for last), everyone went crazy! They also played some random songs like "Jump On It" by the one, the only, Sir Mix-a-lot and "Better Off Alone", which everyone sang along to. The crowd really got into it, probably because were all so happy that classes are over. I kind of turned into a head banger for a little while, which was tons of fun. And now we just have to get through finals...awesome. Thankfully I only really have papers and portfolios, but still, it is very stressful.

Sorry my pictures are kind of crappy, I was much more focused on my head banging. Cause I'm all into that now.

Basically how we were all feeling.

Jump, jump, jump. Jump around.

a fashion frenzy.

I know that smoking is bad and everything, but damn it looks so cool. Damn.

I love the saturation of the colors in this spread. Beautiful.

And just because I don't want you to think I'm totally one note, here's some minimalism. I like it too.

Oh man, I love Freja. Such a badass.
